The Dudley Cultural Council (DCC), the local presence of the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), is eager to learn what residents of Dudley think of the state of their cultural lives in town. We on the DCC are conducting a survey of Dudley residents to we can learn what sorts of programs and events in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences we might help fund that could possibly enrich the quality of your life in Dudley. Grant Announcement: Stewardship Assistance and Restoration on APRs (SARA)

The Department invites responses from Massachusetts farmers who own or operate farm land under the Agricultural Preservation Restriction (“APR”) Program who wish to participate in Round 7 of the Stewardship Assistance and Restoration on APRs Program (“Program”). The purpose of the Program is to address stewardship or restoration issues on farmland resources in order to maximize productive agricultural use of the protected resource.

Funding of up to $25,000, with a 15% match, may be available for identified improvements that will help restore or enhance the protected land resources on an APR farm property.

Eligible uses of funds include contracted labor or equipment rental costs to clear land or reclaim inactive fields back to active cropland use such as: clearing vegetation, removing rocks or stumps, cutting back grown in field edges, or reseeding or applying soil or crop amendments to inactive cropland or pastureland to bring it back into production. Funding may be also be used to restore farm resources that have been negatively impacted by flooding, erosion, storms, tornadoes and other natural disasters.

The deadline for applications is December 7, 2018 by 4 PM, and all projects must be completed by June 30, 2019.

Early Voting and Absentee Policy

The following Policy was adopted by the Board of Selectmen on 10/29/2018:

During the time of Early Voting and Absentee Voting no political signs or attempts at political persuasion are permitted within twenty-Five (25) feet of the front door of the Dudley Municipal Complex, in the entryway of the Dudley Municipal Complex or on any floor in the Dudley Municipal Complex.

For any polling location other than the Dudley Municipal Complex during the time of Early Voting and Absentee Voting no political signs or attempts at political persuasion are permitted within Twenty-Five (25) feet of any entrance door of or inside such facility.
