Reappointment of Election Workers

The Board of Selectmen reappointed the following election workers for the year at their August 21, 2017 meeting:

Town Common Celebration sponsored by the Dudley Historical Commission

On Saturday, August 12, 2017 a  day long celebration will begin at 11am at the Town Common on Center Road with a Civil War Living History Encampment.  Come by and see the  Union Camp from 11:00am to 3:00pm.  They will be demonstrating a Military Drill, Rifle Firing Demonstration and Portrayals of Camp Life.  All are welcome and open to the public.  Bring your picnic lunch and ask questions!!

At 3:30pm members of the 15th Massachusetts reenactors and Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War will be conducting a service commemorating the 155th anniversary of the death of Frank Corbin, a Dudley boy and member of the 15th Massachusetts Regiment, who was killed at the battle of Antietam in 1862.  This will take place at Corbin’s grave in Corbin Cemetery.  Afterwards the regiment will march to the Common. 

At 4:30pm the New Town Common monument and a monument to Dudley’s Civil War Soldiers incarcerated at Andersonville Prison in Georgia  will be dedicated. 

Finally, at 5:00pm there will be a free concert in the Black Tavern barn by the Grey Whisker Pickers, sponsored by the Dudley Cultural Council.  Great music!!

Recycling Center Stickers for 2017-2018

The Dudley Recycling Center located on Indian Road will be selling stickers for the upcoming year beginning July 25th.  You can purchase them anytime the Recycling Center is open as well as on the following Saturdays:   July 29th, August 5th and August 12th.  The cost for Dudley residents is $245.00/year, Seniors – $185.00/year and Non-Resident-$285.00/year.  Permits must be affixed to the windshield at the lower left corner of the vehicle.  The “Take it or Leave It”  shed is for permit holders ONLY. 

Hours of Operation:

Tuesday – 8am to 11:30am – 12:00pm to 4:00pm

Wednesday – 11am to 4:30pm – 5pm to 7pm

Thursday, 8am to 11:30am – 12:00pm to 4:00pm

Friday – CLOSED

Saturday – 8:00am to 3:30pm

CLOSED:  Sundays, Mondays, Fridays and Holidays.
