On Saturday, August 12, 2017 a  day long celebration will begin at 11am at the Town Common on Center Road with a Civil War Living History Encampment.  Come by and see the  Union Camp from 11:00am to 3:00pm.  They will be demonstrating a Military Drill, Rifle Firing Demonstration and Portrayals of Camp Life.  All are welcome and open to the public.  Bring your picnic lunch and ask questions!!

At 3:30pm members of the 15th Massachusetts reenactors and Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War will be conducting a service commemorating the 155th anniversary of the death of Frank Corbin, a Dudley boy and member of the 15th Massachusetts Regiment, who was killed at the battle of Antietam in 1862.  This will take place at Corbin’s grave in Corbin Cemetery.  Afterwards the regiment will march to the Common. 

At 4:30pm the New Town Common monument and a monument to Dudley’s Civil War Soldiers incarcerated at Andersonville Prison in Georgia  will be dedicated. 

Finally, at 5:00pm there will be a free concert in the Black Tavern barn by the Grey Whisker Pickers, sponsored by the Dudley Cultural Council.  Great music!!
